Do NFL fans miss Tony Romo on Sunday?
CBS’s No. 1 NFL broadcasting crew is on the call of Sunday afternoon’s Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers game. It’s been a good one so far. The CBS No. 1 crew features Jim Nantz, J.J. Watt (filling in for Romo) and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson.

Romo, who was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated over the summer, is currently on leave from CBS. He’s admitted to an over reliance on alcohol in relation to back injuries suffered throughout his career. Romo admitted to using alcohol to help get off pain medication.
“As I turn my attention to my health, my family, and, in time, my return to CBS, I kindly ask for privacy during this period,” Romo wrote.
Some in sports media have suggested that CBS would be better off without Romo, thinking that Watt could replace him in a full-time capacity.
However, NFL fans have made it pretty clear on Sunday: they miss Romo.

“Watt is doing great, but I miss Romo … I hope things will work out for him,” one fan wrote.

“JJ isnt bad but I miss the excitement from Romo,” one fan added.
“Oh my God do we miss Tony Romo he’s much much better pairing with Jim Nance. I hope CBS changes their mind and gets Tony back in there,” one fan added.
“Not condoning him or his actions at all by any means, but I kinda miss Tony Romo. JJ Watt is a more than a suitable replacement and great at his job—and I never thought I’d say this, but he and Nantz had such a good chemistry together. Hope he gets the help he needs,” one fan added.
“I know he made a mistake….but I miss Tony Romo,” one fan added.
It remains unclear if CBS will welcome Romo back to its airwaves. The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback is committed to a return.

For now, though, Watt will be replacing him.
