Anthony Uribe knew he always wanted to create and lead.
Those are the passions he said drove him to Sacramento, the epicenter of California politics.
While attending a DACA rally his senior year of college, he found an internship opportunity for U.S. Rep. Ami Bera, D-Elk Grove. And for nine years, Urbie worked in almost every role in Bera’s office.
“I’ve always been getting involved,” Uribe said. “I found myself in a great city and surrounded by people who genuinely wanted to … change community aspects of things,”
Uribe once organized a taco fest supporting 64 small Latino businesses in Del Paso Heights, a neighborhood in Bera’s district. It was a neighborhood Uribe grew to love.

With Bera’s office, Uribe also assisted in the congressman’s annual Brain Health Forum for people with dementia and their families. Uribe said he served more than 700,000 residents in Bera’s district. In 2026, Uribe was awarded the Sacramento Metro Chamber’s “Young Professional of the Year.”
Uribe currently serves as the deputy chief operations officer for Wilton Rancheria, the only federally recognized tribe in Sacramento. In this role, he oversees multiple departments within the tribe. He works directly with tribal citizens, helping them navigate tribal and state resources designated for Native Americans.
Uribe, who is Mexican American, said his work ethic comes from wanting to help the Latino community. While he’s navigating his career, he said he aims to always support other Latinos.
“We can’t be shooting ourselves in a barrel; we’ve got to climb this ladder and help the person behind us,” he said.
