Arden Way robbery suspects arrested after getaway aboard bus, Sacramento police say

Two suspects in an Arden Way robbery who made their getaway alongside passengers aboard a Regional Transit bus Monday night were arrested in midtown, Sacramento police said.

The two men allegedly robbed another man in the 1700 block of Arden Way about 8:30 p.m. Monday before boarding a downtown-bound bus, Sacramento Police Department officials said.

The pair got off the RT bus near 29th and F streets and fled.

A dozen passengers were aboard the bus when the men boarded, Sacramento Regional Transit officials said. No injuries were reported.

Sacramento police contacted Regional Transit asking officials to review security footage along their routes.

Transit security noticed a passenger who matched a suspect’s description and the driver was told to hold the bus at a stop until transit police arrived, said Sacramento Regional Transit.

The two men left the bus as transit police arrived, and the bus continued on its route, said transit officials.

Sacramento police officers established a perimeter in the area and spotted the two men, who surrendered to police, department officials said.
