Becky Lynch has opened up about one of the most frightening moments of her life, recalling the tense seconds after her daughter Roux Lopez was born. The WWE star revealed that Roux did not immediately cry, leaving Lynch unsure of what was happening as medical staff worked to get a response.

“Probably like-well, there was a few sec. She wasn’t crying when she came out. They were like smacking her. Yeah, but it was-those were like-that was some, some rough 30 seconds.”
Lynch said she could not fully understand what was happening while she watched the medical staff attend to Roux. She remembered seeing what appeared to be a blanket covering her daughter’s mouth and feared that she could not breathe.
“Well, I don’t know. It was very scary. It was very scary, you know. You know, and they’re like smacking her and then-and then the little cry and the- No, but I do remember like they had like a-they had like a blanket or something and they were-it was covering her mouth and they were smacking her and I was like, ‘But she can’t breathe.’ But then I forgot that she’s still attached to the umbilical cord, so she could breathe.”
The tension finally disappeared when Roux cried and Lynch was able to hold her. What followed was an immediate rush of emotion for the WWE star.
“Oh, it was just love, you know, love. Like, oh my god, this most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life. This little cutie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Of course. Easily. You just go, ‘Oh, oh, ah, this is it. I get it. I get it now.’ You know, I understand what everybody was saying.”
Becky Lynch’s WWE Career Took a Different Path After Roux’s Birth
Lynch and Seth Rollins welcomed Roux in December 2020 after the former Women’s World Champions stepped away from WWE during her pregnancy. She announced the pregnancy on Monday Night RAW in May 2020 and relinquished the RAW Women’s Championship, marking a significant pause in her career.

Lynch eventually returned to WWE at SummerSlam 2021, making her first appearance in the ring since giving birth and immediately defeating Bianca Belair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Roux has since occasionally appeared alongside her parents, though Lynch has largely kept her family life separate from her WWE career. The 39-year-old star has also spoken openly about how becoming a mother changed her perspective, previously explaining that she once assumed she would wait until she finished wrestling before starting a family.
That balance between motherhood and wrestling remains part of Lynch’s story, but she is currently back in the middle of WWE’s Women’s World Championship picture.
After returning to WWE television on the August 3, 2026 episode of RAW, Lynch became involved in Stephanie Vaquer’s rivalry with Liv Morgan. She attempted to help “La Primera” fend off interference during their September 7 title match, only for Morgan to retain the championship after using the title against Vaquer.
Lynch was later named special guest referee for Morgan and Vaquer’s rematch in Santiago, Chile, where Vaquer defeated The Judgment Day member to reclaim the Women’s World Championship. Lynch played a decisive role in the finish, ultimately raising Vaquer’s hand after the Chilean star secured the victory.
