Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever head into Sunday’s showdown with the Las Vegas Aces after a convincing win over the Los Angeles Sparks last Saturday. Indiana improved to 11-8 and currently sits seventh in the WNBA standings.

Now, Stephanie White’s team will look to make it two consecutive wins when it hosts an Aces squad in a game that could see reigning MVP A’ja Wilson return to the lineup after missing the Commissioner’s Cup Final.
The Fever took care of business without Clark in their 111-87 rout of the Sparks, as the star guard remained sidelined with a back injury she suffered against the Phoenix Mercury. Still, there was reason for optimism this week after Clark returned to practice, raising hopes she could be available against Las Vegas following several days of treatment and individual workouts.
However, those hopes took a hit on Friday. Speaking after practice, Clark confirmed she will not play against the Aces on Sunday, though she expressed optimism that she could return during Indiana’s back-to-back games
Forbes Sports’ Tony East first reported the update, with Clark telling reporters she hopes to be back on the court as soon as next week if her recovery continues to progress.

Sunday’s game will be the third game Clark has missed during the 2026 season. She previously sat out the Fever’s win over the Sparks and a May 20 outing against the Portland Fire because of injury concerns. Clark’s long-term health remains Indiana’s top priority, as the season reaches its midway point.
Despite the injuries, Clark continues to put together another outstanding campaign. The recently named 2026 WNBA All-Star starter is averaging 21.2 points, 8.2 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game while helping lead Indiana into playoff position. If her recovery stays on schedule, the Fever could have their floor general back during next week’s back-to-back against the Sparks and Mercury.
