The Davis Police Department, Davis Fire Department and UC Davis Police Department will take part in active threat response training next week, authorities announced.

The training will take place at St. James Catholic School, 1215 B St., in central Davis from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 3 and 4, and again the following week on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
The exercises are designed to help Davis’ first responders improve coordination and cooperation during critical incidents.
The training will include blank ammunition and training rounds, along with a significant presence of emergency vehicles and loud noises, police said.

Authorities stressed that the activity is part of planned training and would not pose a danger to the public.
