A motorist died Tuesday after a two-car crash on Auburn Boulevard in Citrus Heights closed the road for several hours, police said Wednesday.

Citrus Heights police were called about 8:45 p.m. to the rear-end crash on Auburn Boulevard at Carriage Drive, the Police Department said. Officers found the driver of one vehicle unresponsive.
Emergency responders took the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office was expected to release the man’s name after his next of kin were notified.
The other driver was not injured.
Neither speed, alcohol nor drugs were factors in the collision, police said. Auburn Boulevard was closed while investigators were at the scene, but reopened to traffic several hours later.
