Egypt is ranked No. 26 in the latest live FIFA Men’s World Rankings with 1,584.71 points. The Pharaohs hold a narrow two-place advantage over Australia, which sits 28th with 1,581.35 points.
Mohamed Salah & co. entered the tournament ranked 29th in the world but climbed three spots after going unbeaten in the group stage. Hossam Hassan’s side gained 22.33 ranking points during the opening phase to move up the live rankings.
Historically, the Pharaohs achieved their highest-ever FIFA ranking in 2010, reaching No. 9 in the world. Led by Salah, this squad has already produced Egypt’s best World Cup performance since 1934 and will now look to continue its historic run by booking a place in the Round of 16.
