A former firefighter previously accused of exposing himself at a Rancho Cordova car wash was arrested after Folsom police said he engaged in lewd conduct at two businesses in The Palladio shopping center over the weekend and may have victimized others.

Folsom police said officers responded Aug. 1 to the Barnes & Noble bookstore after receiving reports of a man engaging in lewd conduct inside the store. The man left before officers arrived, Folsom officers said in a Wednesday statement.
During the investigation, officers learned the same suspect was involved in a similar incident earlier that day at the nearby Sun & Shade clothing store, where an employee reported the behavior.
Detectives identified the suspect as Clifford Wayne Robinson Jr., 34, and arrested him Tuesday. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of two felony counts of indecent exposure, two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct for soliciting lewd acts and one misdemeanor count of photographing or recording under a person’s clothing. Jail records show his bail was set at $350,000.
Police believe there may be additional victims. Investigators said Robinson was at the Palladio from about 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1. Anyone who had contact with Robinson during that time and believes they may have been a victim is asked to email Detective Joseph Howard at [email protected].
Police released Robinson’s booking photo in an effort to identify additional victims.

Robinson was previously arrested in May 2024 after Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies accused him of exposing himself to a woman at a Rancho Cordova car wash, according to previous Bee reporting. Court records show that case remains pending in Sacramento Superior Court.
At the time of his 2024 arrest, Robinson was identified as a Cal Fire firefighter. A Cal Fire spokesperson said Thursday that Robinson is no longer employed by the agency and was separated from employment in August 2024. The agency declined to comment further, citing it as a personnel matter.
According to court records cited in the 2024 case, Robinson was previously convicted in Santa Cruz County on three misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure stemming from a 2015 incident. Authorities said Robinson is a registered sex offender, though he did not appear Thursday on the state’s Megan Law website.
Robinson was expected to be arraigned in the Folsom case Thursday in Sacramento Superior Court.
