A judge has announced the sentencing for ex-NFL star Antonio Brown.
Brown, a five-time All-Pro, was facing up to 30 years in prison in his second-degree attempted murder case. Brown, 38, was facing major prison time for an incident involving gunfire outside an amateur boxing match in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood in May 2025. He pleaded not-guilty and filed to have the case dismissed, under Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law.

Brown alleges that he was trying to get to his car safely, when the alleged victim attacked him. Brown was accused of chasing the man down and shooting at him from point-blank range. The victim was unharmed.
On Wednesday, September 23, the courts announced that Brown will accept a plea deal. He will avoid prison time. Brown will formally accept the plea deal, which will be a reduced charge of aggravated assault, his lawyer told ESPN on Wednesday. Brown will be on probation moving forward.
“They made [Brown] an offer he couldn’t refuse,” Brown’s attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, said in a statement. “There is a profound difference between believing you can win a case and deciding that you and your family cannot afford to spend another year, or potentially several years, wearing an ankle monitor and fighting it.”

Probation is the only punishment for Brown.
“There’s no prison, there’s no jail, there’s no house arrest. There’s only straight probation,” Eiglarsh told ESPN. “And no alcohol or drug evaluation, no psychological evaluation, no letter of apology, no community service hours, no fines. Just stay away from the victim.
“No one in their right mind will continue with litigation and/or uncertain stand your ground and trial when [the prosecutors] threw that on the table.”
Brown faced up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
“We believe that the ends of justice are accomplished with this plea deal, and my client wishes Mr. Brown good health,” the prosecutor’s office told ESPN on Wednesday.

Brown last played in the NFL in 2021.
