Deputies are investigating a possible homicide after responding to the report of a dead body in a North Highlands home Sunday.

At around 5:15 p.m., Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies were called to assist at a residence on the 3700 block of Lenore Way after a caller reported finding their brother deceased inside the home, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. Ed Igoe.
Deputies found an man deceased in the residence and discovered circumstances that led them to believe the death may be the result of a homicide.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators processed the scene, though as of Monday the Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office had not determined whether the man’s death was caused by a homicide. Igoe said that investigators were waiting on autopsy results.
