Whether fans are treated to an action-packed, all-time fight between two warriors, a one-sided slaughter, or even watching their favorite fighter get viciously knocked out in the first round, it’s hard not to sit down and enjoy the show. But one thing that may turn heads away from the screen, aside from a sluggish heavyweight hugging match, is the disturbing feel of a gruesome submission. There’s just something different about submissions. And to prove it, we may have found the worst one yet.
Over the years of mixed martial arts, there have been countless finishes that force fans to wince and grimace at what they’re witnessing. Step up, Kye Genesis. A man who delivered a submission so nasty that it almost makes us not want to congratulate him.
Live from the Plymouth Memorial Hall in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Cage Titans 78 got underway. During their fight card, a catchweight bout at 150 pounds took place between the aforementioned Genesis and David Diaz.
Genesis, also known by the name Kye Michel, is a Cage Titans veteran who showcased his grappling prowess and put Diaz in a damning position on the bottom. Working his way to a more dominant top position, Genesis easily transitioned to side control before snatching the arm of his opponent.

It didn’t take long for the US-native to lock in the scarf hold armlock. But instead of tapping, Diaz tried to fight out of the position, leading to one of the worst arm breaks in recent history.
