A sprawling, 106-room San Simeon hotel has a new name and upgraded accommodations from its former life as a budget Motel 6.

Greens Group bought the property in April 2022 and now four years later has debuted it as a Hampton Inn by Hilton, according to general manager Pratik Vyas.
The Inn is located on the southeast side of the 1.5-mile-long town that straddles Highway 1, at 9070 Castillo Drive.
The lodging had carried the Motel 6 brand for at least two decades. It also was briefly a Holiday Inn.
What’s new at San Simeon’s Hampton Inn?
Many of the latest upgrades have been made to public-facing rooms and amenities, Vyas said.
A recent peek inside shows a fully revamped lobby and modifications “to accommodate a new fitness center, guest laundry and complimentary breakfast buffet,” he said, along with a “beautifully enhanced outdoor patio, and seating areas that create inviting spaces for guests to relax and gather, complemented by a cozy fire pit.”
The property also offers an on-site treat shop and free Wi‑Fi.
The hotel also has a heated outdoor pool and seven rooms tailored for easy access for disabled guests.
Pet-friendly rooms are available for dogs and cats, with a two-pet limit and extra charge of $25 per night.

Here’s more about the Hampton, its holding company and its management
Vyas is an onsite manager at Hampton but also serves as the GM for The Morgan Hotel at 9135 Hearst Drive, across Highway 1 from the Hampton site.
Both lodgings are owned by Greens Group, a privately held real estate development and hotel company that’s celebrating its 30th year in business.
In his jobs, Vyas supervises 20 employees at the Hampton Inn and 15 at The Morgan, he said.
On Thursday, current room rates started at $177 a night, according to Expedia and $211, according to the Hilton/Hampton Inn website. Check-in is at 4, and check-out by 11.
