While he may come across as a polarizing figure to many, Kevin Durant remains one of the NBA’s top draws alongside LeBron James and Stephen Curry. Standing close to seven feet tall, KD’s game embodies elegance and finesse to perfection, making him a treat to watch.

Some may despise him for certain career choices, but there is no questioning his talent and skill set. Soon to enter his 19th season, Durant has achieved almost every accolade in the book, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest offensive players of all time.
Regardless of him not being the most likable superstar, Kevin continues to have his fan base and long list of admirers, as evidenced by his routine jersey-swapping sessions and giveaways for fans.
Interestingly enough, Durant seems to have a penchant for collecting jerseys, something he spoke candidly about during a recent appearance on “Boardroom Talks” with Speedy Morman. The 37-year-old revealed that there were no prerequisites for exchanging jerseys with him.
“I swap my jerseys with everybody. I ain’t going to lie to you,”said Durant, with Morman pointing out that he had seen the two-time champion say no.
“No, I told you, I do it in the back. I don’t like to take off my jersey and do the pic. You know, cause I don’t wear nothing under my jersey. I just be bird-chest out there… I don’t be liking that view. So, I send it over in the back. Got to sign it and send it over, and just send me yours… I got mad jerseys of just random players,” said KD in his defense, adding that someday he may probably do something with his unique collection.
He never denies requests
Setting aside his hobby of collecting jerseys, one would think that Durant must stop somewhere. When asked what he would do in the event of multiple requests, the former OKC Thunder MVP revealed how most players usually traveled with four to five jerseys.
“It don’t matter if it’s game-worn. They just want the signature most of the time. I don’t be tripping if it’s game-worn or not either… I’ll be collecting them. I don’t give a f—k if you’re a 10-day dude,” stated Kevin, who was reminded of a time when he did reject a request that also happened to be from actor and comedian Lamorne Morris.

The incident occurred during a 2024-25 regular-season game between the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Clippers at the Intuit Dome. As KD made his way to the locker room after getting the W, Morris would yell his name, asking if he could get his jersey, a request that was politely declined.
“Gotta keep this one on, baby,” said Kevin in response.

Finally, putting an end to these misconceptions, Durant revealed that he had a mic attached to his jersey, which is why he didn’t oblige the actor and comedian, but was more than willing to make up for it at any time in the future.

When he jokingly turned down the Ant-Man
Anthony Edwards has never hidden his admiration for Durant, one of the stars he grew up watching. So when the Timberwolves faced KD’s Rockets during the regular season, Edwards naturally tried to get a jersey swap from him.
Durant, clearly in a playful mood, did not hand it over right away. Instead, he joked with Edwards about putting on weight before walking off. Still, considering what KD said about usually handling swaps away from the cameras, it is fair to assume Edwards probably got the jersey later behind the scenes.

When it’s all said and done, it will be interesting to see what Durant does with his jersey collection, especially the rarest of rare pieces that never make it to the consumer market.
