A fire that sparked Wednesday morning in a Noralto home hospitalized two people, including a 2-year-old child, the Sacramento Fire Department confirmed.

The blaze ignited in the bedroom of a home along the 2500 block of Grove Avenue and was reported at 11:15 a.m. Firefighters who responded to the call identified a man and a child on the premises, Capt. Justin Sylvia, a Sacramento Fire Department spokesperson, said in a statement.
The man received CPR on site and was alert and oriented before he was hospitalized. The 2-year-old was also hospitalized and is receiving treatment for smoke inhalation, Sylvia said.

The cause of the fire, which was quick put out by firefighters, remains under investigation.
