Wearing a Giants hat, WNBA star Caitlin Clark takes in a game in San Francisco

Donning a black-and-white San Francisco Giants hat, WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark took in a game from the stands of Oracle Park on Wednesday afternoon during a day off before her Indiana Fever take on the Golden State Valkyries on Thursday.

Clark, a two-time WNBA All-Star and Iowa native who played for the University of Iowa, is a noted Chicago Cubs fan, having thrown out the first pitch for both the Cubs and their Triple-A affiliate Iowa Cubs. In 2023, Clark even had her own custom bobblehead night at Principal Park, home of the Iowa Cubs.

However, on Wednesday, Clark wore Giants gear and sat near the home dugout to watch San Francisco finish its series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. She stayed until at least the sixth inning, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Clark, the top overall pick in the 2024 WNB draft, had time to hang out at the ballpark before the Fever (4-2) take on the Valkyries (4-2) at Chase Center at 7 p.m. Thursday. The teams played in Indianapolis last Friday in a game that Clark and the Fever won, 90-82.

In five games this season, Clark is leading the Fever with 23.8 points per game, nine assists per game and one block per game, on top of 4.4 rebounds per game.

“Caitlin Clark is here, and she can play,” Giants play-by-play announcer Duane Kuiper said as Clark appeared on the NBC Sports Bay Area, with her WNBA stats displayed on the TV broadcast.

The Giants (22-34) went on to lose, 3-2, being swept at home by the Arizona Diamondbacks (31-24).
