The Indiana Fever won’t be back on the court until Thursday night, but they’re still finding ways to make headlines – albeit not for a great reason.

On May 20, the Fever revealed that Caitlin Clark wouldn’t play against the Portland Fire due to back soreness. This news shocked their fans because Clark wasn’t initially on the injury report. They also had an issue with Indiana dropping this bomb of an announcement less than two hours before tipoff.
Interestingly enough, Fever reporter Scott Agness said Clark was held out of that game because of the team’s load management plan for the season.
“Fever guard Caitlin Clark will NOT play tonight vs Portland Fire. I’m told it’s part of a strategic management plan for the season,” Agness said. “Tonight is the Fever’s fourth game in eight days.”
Agness revealed Tuesday that his credentials have been revoked due to his reporting on Clark’s injury.
“Indiana Fever public relations informed me via email that my credentialed access to all team events had been revoked. They said it was due to “the spread of inaccurate and unsubstantiated information” and cited my tweet about Caitlin Clark being ruled out 100 minutes before they defeated the Portland Fire on May 20,” Agness wrote for Fieldhouse Files.

“Fever PR briefly spoke with me before the game to ask about the tweet and state that they believed it was false. However, there was no meeting or further conversation before the decision to revoke my credentialed access was communicated to me. In my response, I told the organization that I stand by my reporting and the intent behind it.”
What’s the latest on Caitlin?
Clark has played in each of the past three games for the Fever since her mysterious absence on May 20.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Fever reinstate Agness’ credentials between now and tipoff for Thursday’s game against the Atlanta Dream.
There’ll be plenty of eyes on Thursday’s game due to Clark’s rivalry with Angel Reese. That matchup will be streamed exclusively on Prime Videl.
