Indiana Fever Make Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell Announcement After Liberty Game

Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell were back at it again as the Indiana Fever got another statement win at home. Indiana took down the New York Liberty 106-92 on Tuesday, with its star backcourt combining for 50 points and helping the Fever win their second straight game.

Mitchell set the tone early, scoring 20 of her 28 points in the first half. She shot 11-for-16 overall and knocked down all four of her attempts from three, adding three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Clark finished with 22 points and 10 assists, giving the three-time All-Star her 10th double-double of the season.

The Fever’s latest win also produced a pair of milestones for their backcourt.

The team announced that Mitchell has moved into fourth place in franchise history in steals (252). Clark also made more history, breaking her own WNBA record for the most games with at least 20 points and 10 assists in a single season.

Tuesday marked her ninth such game this year. No other player has recorded more than five in a season.

The Fever are rolling and have now won 11 of their last 15 games. Indiana improved to 21-12, enough for the fourth best record in the WNBA.

Mitchell’s 28-point outing also extended her streak of consecutive 20-point games to 17, while Clark leads the league in assists (8.2) and ranks third in points per game (21.7).

Clark and Mitchell will have a chance to help the Fever win their third straight game when Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings visit Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 pm ET.
