Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken is still undecided on his QB1 between Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson.

The first preseason game for Cleveland against the Chicago Bears is slated for Saturday at Soldier Field, and coach Monken has revealed his depth chart at the quarterback position.
According to a recent report by Browns beat writer Mary Kay Cabot, Monken hasn’t decided yet on who to start ahead of the game. Monken reportedly said the depth chart should say either Watson or Sanders at QB1.
Sanders took over the QB1 position for the Browns in the latter part of the season and delivered 1,400 passing yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions in eight games.
Meanwhile, Watson is making a return to action after missing the entire season last year while rehabilitating from a ruptured right Achilles tendon.

Prior to Watson’s injury, he racked up 1,148 passing yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions for Cleveland in seven games in 2024. Now, the two are battling for the team’s starting spot.
The Browns have moved on from their former star, Myles Garrett, who was traded to the Los Angeles Rams for multiple future draft picks. They also acquired Tytus Howard from the Houston Texans in exchange for several picks.
This newly structured team hopes to crack the postseason for the first time since 2023. Last season, they finished fourth in the AFC North with a 5-12 record and missed the playoffs for the second year in a row.
