After sitting out the Indiana Fever’s recent game against the Phoenix Mercury amid her recovery from a back injury, Caitlin Clark is now set to return against the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday.

Head coach Stephanie White confirmed on Saturday that Clark will suit up in the showdown with the Aces at the Michelob ULTRA Arena. However, she will be on a minutes restriction of 20 to 25 minutes.
The good news for Clark is that the Fever don’t plan to use her in short spurts like they did against the Los Angeles Sparks, according to Chloe Peterson of the Indianapolis Star.
The All-Star guard played just 16 minutes against the Sparks on Wednesday, finishing with nine points, four rebounds, three assists and one steal in a 106-92 loss. It was her first appearance after a two-game absence and following two weeks without competitive basketball, so Indiana was extra careful and eased her back into live game action.
What frustrated Clark about the restriction was that she played in spurts of two to three minutes before being subbed out. The 24-year-old guard admitted postgame that “it’s really hard” to have such constraints in place because she was not able to get a good feel for the game and build a rhythm to make her usual impact.
“It’s just really hard when you’re playing three minutes, (sub) out, three minutes, three minutes, then you’re on the bench,” Clark said after the Fever’s loss to the Sparks.

“It’s really, really hard to get into a flow. For the most part, I got good looks, some of them went, some of them didn’t. I probably didn’t get to have a feel for the game as I usually do, like it’s just really, really hard for me to play in that scenario.”
Clark is averaging roughly 30 minutes per game this season with the Fever, so playing for 20 to 25 minutes with little interruption should give her a chance to get her rhythm back and contribute more.
Indiana could really use Clark’s offensive skills against a Las Vegas team that is led by MVP A’ja Wilson and that boasts a 17-6 record.
