Infant died while co-sleeping with parents in Fort Worth, police say

Fort Worth police are investigating the death of an infant who was found unresponsive at an apartment Sunday morning.

Officers responded about 8 a.m. to the 3800 block of Stalcup Road after a report of an unresponsive infant, Fort Worth police said in a statement.

When officers arrived, they learned the parents had been co-sleeping with the infant and found the child unresponsive when they woke up. According to police, there were no obvious signs of trauma.

Police said the Child Abuse and Child Unit will investigate the circumstances surrounding the infant’s death.
