Is This Vikings Star the Next Big Trade Name After Marvin Harrison Jr.?

The NFL trade market is heating up, and the Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jauan Jennings could be the next name to watch. After the Houston Texans traded for former Arizona Cardinals first-round pick Marvin Harrison Jr., attention has shifted to Jennings, whose disappointing start in Minnesota has raised questions about his future.

On The Pat McAfee Show, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport believes Jennings’ trade market could pick up before the November 10 deadline.

“I would say a name that I’ve been wondering about is Jauan Jennings. So he’s with the Minnesota Vikings, had like two catches. I expect his name to heat up a little bit over the next, you know, probably couple days and weeks,” Rapoport said.

“Obviously the 49ers lost Deebo for a couple of weeks too. So they make sense. That would be a name for me to keep an eye on over the next little bit. Like those are the kinds of trades we’ll see, I think.”

Minnesota signed the veteran wide receiver to a one-year, $8 million contract after he spent five seasons with San Francisco, hoping he would provide a reliable option behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Instead, Jennings has just two catches for nine yards on five targets through their opening appearances. He has started only two of the Vikings’ first five games and missed one contest for personal reasons.

With Samuel expected to miss time and several other receivers dealing with injuries, Jennings could provide an experienced option for the Niners, who understands the offense. The Kansas City Chiefs are another possible fit. Their receiving corps could use additional depth, and Jennings’ physical style and blocking ability would complement their offense. The Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers have also been floated as potential landing spots in trade speculation.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Trade: A Necessary Gamble for the Texans?

The Houston Texans have acquired wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. from the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for 2027 second and seventh-round picks, while sending a 2027 sixth-round pick to Arizona in return. The trade addresses a critical need for Houston, giving quarterback C.J. Stroud a much-needed playmaker alongside Nico Collins.

The move reunites Stroud and Harrison, who previously dominated together at Ohio State. In 2023, Harrison posted 1,211 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns under Stroud’s leadership. Houston hopes this existing chemistry accelerates his transition, as Harrison’s NFL production had stalled in Arizona—totaling just 108 catches for 1,578 yards across 33 games, including a quiet 85 yards through four games this season.

Under contract through 2027 with a fifth-year option for 2028, Harrison gives Houston a long-term weapon. However, the Texans are betting he can sharpen his route running and win contested catches at the pro level. If Harrison refines his elite form, his presence will draw attention away from Collins, create mismatches, and give Stroud a lethal tandem on third downs and in the red zone.
