Jalon Daniels has moved up on at least one national list. Fox Sports’ Henry McKenna put the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ undrafted rookie at No. 29 in his Week 6 QB stock market, two spots higher than last week. He landed between Justin Herbert at No. 28 and Cam Ward at No. 30, which is about what 19 of 25 for 189 yards and a win buys a quarterback with two career starts.

McKenna didn’t write a word about Daniels, so the bump is mostly about the results. Daniels didn’t beat Dallas alone, and Bucky Irving’s 165 rushing yards did most of the heavy lifting.
Pittsburgh brings the pressure Dallas couldn’t
The Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) come to Raymond James Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on CBS as a three-point road favorite. They are fresh off a 34-22 win over Indianapolis, with T.J. Watt carrying 4.5 of the team’s 11 sacks and a defense that has forced 10 turnovers. Todd Bowles liked what he saw from his rookie in Dallas. “He did a good job getting in and out of the huddle so I can’t say enough about him,” Bowles told the Associated Press after the win.

The bigger picture is still thin. Daniels is 38 of 55 for 337 yards with two touchdown passes and three interceptions, and his 57.3 PFF overall grade ranks 30th of 36 quarterbacks. He has three turnover-worthy plays on 71 dropbacks and has done his best work improvising, with 80 yards on 12 scrambles. That’s a small sample, and Pittsburgh’s front is built to punish a passer who leaves the pocket early. “I look at myself as if I’m a (undrafted free agent) rookie going out there and just trying to be able to make plays,” Daniels told the AP in Arlington.
Then there’s the clock on Baker Mayfield. He dislocated his right thumb against Minnesota in Week 3, and Bowles said at the time, “Right now we’re probably talking a minimum of three weeks.” That window has closed, but Bowles still plans to start Daniels against the Steelers, and the latest Mayfield injury update hinges on whether he can grip a football. A clean game against Aaron Rodgers and Watt keeps the Bucs from rushing him back, and a second straight win would ease the pressure on a coach whose job security is still in question before the Week 10 bye. Another climb up McKenna’s board would be a nice bonus, but the NFC South standings matter more.
