Jason Kelce Had Tough ‘Growing Pains’ During Sunday’s NFL Network Broadcast

Announcing NFL games is not easy.

Former Philadelphia Eagles star turned broadcaster Jason Kelce was on the call of the Eagles vs. Jaguars game in London. Kelce, who won a Super Bowl with the Eagles, was part of a three-man booth, along with Dave Pasch and Kurt Warner.

Kelce received mixed reviews for his performance.

However, at the end of the game, as the Eagles blew a late lead to the Jaguars, falling 19-17, Kelce showed some serious “growing pains” according to his critics.

“The end of the game was a reminder that Jason Kelce is still learning how to do this,” The Ringer’s Bryan Curtis shared on X.

Kelce might have shown some bias toward the Eagles, while also not really understanding the magnitude of the moment in London.

“I dunno, maybe don’t assign him to Eagles games until he figures out how to take his heart out of his game?” one fan argued.

“He only got the job at ESPN because of his connection to Taylor Swift. Nepotism,” another fan joked.

“You mean yelling the in-booth official’s name in every moment that would actually require knowing the rule book isn’t standard practice?” one fan added.

“He’s really bad. In no world should he be calling Eagles games,” one fan added.

Former ESPN star Jason Whitlock puts Kelce on blast, too

“What is Jason Kelce doing? Why is he speaking Jesus name in vain during a football broadcast? What was funny? Kurt Warner needs to check him, not laugh it off,” Whitlock shared on X.

The Eagles fell to a disappointing 2-3 on the season with the loss to the Jaguars, who improved to 4-1 on the season with the victory.

Kelce will get more opportunities to announce NFL games for the NFL Network moving forward this season.
