At the ripe age of 37, Justin Gaethje believes he is entering his prime.
All athletes are different; some peak early and some peak late. But by their late 30s, most are either in the worst stretch of their careers, retired, or in the process of retiring. Not Gaethje. Two months away from his 38th birthday, he is thriving more than he ever has. A three-fight stretch of beating Rafael Fiziev, Paddy Pimblett, and Ilia Topuria, becoming the undisputed UFC champion for the first time, and heading into 2027 in the strongest position he’s ever been in since signing with the UFC, Gaethje is flourishing.

The question now is: will Justin Gaethje fight again? While no decision has been made on that front, Gaethje is confident he has matured into the best fighter he’s going to be.
Believing there’s a physical and mental prime, Gaethje sees himself firmly at his best mentally, saying:
“There’s two different primes: physical and psychological. So, I do think that I am reaching my psychological, you know, and mental prime when it comes to competing and thriving in these atmospheres. But I just think my body, you know, I’ve been very lucky when it comes to the overall injuries that I’ve sustained through my career. Whether it be football, wrestling, growing up, have been not- I’ve been so lucky to not have anything too serious.”

“I feel great. There’s nothing- I don’t feel 37.”
In his psychological prime, while still being able to deliver performances as he did against Ilia Topuria on the White House lawn, is a scary prospect. Hands of steel, with great cardio, a strong chin, and respectable wrestling, Justin Gaethje is going to be hard to beat.
Next up, all eyes are on Arman Tsarukyan. If the two do face off, Gaethje will be leaning on his experience and aforementioned mentality to get the job done.
