Does Tom Brady need to change the way he announces games?
The legendary NFL quarterback is in Year 3 with FOX. He’s part of the network’s No. 1 announcing team, working alongside Kevin Burkhardt, Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi. Brady was on the call of Sunday afternoon’s Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders game on FOX.

But NFL fans think he needs to improve as an announcer – and become more relaxed and emotional in the booth.
“Brady was once again painful to listen to yesterday. His emotion is nowhere to be found. Stagnant, monotonous, overthinking every single word trying to be a polished pro… Just stop and please talk football to us like we’d all be hanging at a bar together,” sports broadcaster Joe Gunz said on X.
He added: “I tried giving Brady another chance today at broadcasting but man, he just doesn’t do it for me…He’s often very hesitant and unsure bc he is trying to come across much more polished and it simply does not work, as I’ve said for multiple seasons now.”

Many NFL fans seem to agree.
“Brady still isn’t very good in the broadcasting booth,” one fan said.
“He’s insightful, but he’s just still kind of awkward,” one fan added.
Brady fires back at his critics
Brady, meanwhile, doesn’t seem to like the criticism.
“It’s clickbait for people and it’s something that people have no idea what they’re really glomming onto,” Brady told SBJ. “They just put it out there in the world and see what sticks. So to me, I just focus on what I need to do to be prepared. That’s what I did as a player, and I go out there every week as a broadcaster and try to do the same thing.”
Brady, though, does want to get better consistently.
“I have a lot to prove to myself, to my teammates. I have a lot to prove to the executives,” Brady said. “I want to go earn it and I don’t want anything given to me. I hope they’ll have me through the end of this contract. I love getting to enjoy the game. I love watching good football. There’s such great camaraderie and chemistry we all have together. We have seminars. We have off-site retreats. We have text threads with all of us. It feels like a big family in so many ways, and I was not really expecting that when I decided to take the job.”
