Packers DT Javon Hargrave Leaves Game vs. Bears with Potential Season-ending Injury

The Green Bay Packers‘ 31-7 blowout victory over the rival Chicago Bears on Sunday ended with a sour taste. Late in the fourth quarter, defensive tackle Javon Hargrave went down with a leg injury, leaving the field on a cart.

Hargrave, who entered the game as questionable with a toe injury, suffered what appeared to be a potentially season-ending injury with 1:53 remaining in the game. Speaking with reporters following the win, head coach Matt LaFleur said the update on the veteran defensive tackle was “not good.”

While there’s been no official update on the severity of Hargrave’s injury, getting carted off is usually a bad sign, and one the Packers are unfortunately familiar with, having already lost tackle Zach Bako-Bewele, wideout Jayden Reed, and linebacker Edgerrin Cooper in similar fashion.

It’s fair to wonder why Hargrave was still in the game with the result well in hand. It’s especially curious when you consider that the 33-year-old has been on the Packers injury report nearly every week.

Regardless of the circumstances, if Hargrave misses significant time, it will create another hole to fill for an already battered defense.
