The Terra restaurant in the Westfield Valley Fair Eataly has been closed after failing inspection late last week.

During an inspection of the restaurant on 2855 Stevens Creek Blvd. on Friday afternoon, Santa Clara County Health inspectors found “a live cockroach crawling on the wall above the hand wash sink in the kitchen” as well as dead cockroaches in the same area, .
The restaurant was ordered to close immediately and ordered to clean and sanitize the kitchen and check for any points of entry for the insects.

The store in Valley Fair was the first Eataly in Northern California. The 45,000-square-foot facility is three stories and features meat, seafood and produce counters; two restaurants, several cafes and bakeries and a wine store with 1,200 bottles and a tasting room. So far this year, the other facilities in the Eataly that have been checked by county officials have passed inspection.
