And the Detroit Tigers will demand full value for their three-game sweep of the 94-loss Colorado Rockies.
Riley Greene continued his scorching run and right-hander Jackson Jobe was in peak form as the Tigers capped the weekend with a comfortable 8-1 win Sunday.
Greene, who is on a 16 for 32 tear, clubbed his 20th homer and knocked in three runs. The consistency of his production the last three seasons has been remarkable and maybe a bit undersold.
His is the first Tiger since J.D. Martinez (2014-2016) to produce at least 30 doubles, 20 homers and 68 RBIs (now 71) in three straight seasons. Only five players in the game have done that in the last three seasons: Seiya Suzuki, Bryce Harper, Matt Olson, Rafael Devers and Greene.
The Tigers’ kiddie core ignited a three-run second inning off beleaguered Rockies’ starter Gabriel Hughes. Max Clark started it with a single and a stolen base, his fifth in six tries. He scored on a single by John Peck.
Kevin McGonigle capped it, winning an eight-pitch at-bat and lashing a two-run triple off the top of the right-field wall.
The Tigers worked 70 pitches from Hughes in two innings and at that point had seen 264 pitches in the last 10 innings.

Reliever Zach Agnos walked the bases loaded in the fourth. Two of those runners scored, one on a sacrifice fly by Hao-Yu Lee and another on a single by Greene.
Spencer Torkelson, who had been hitting balls to the wall in left the entire series, finally got one to clear, belting his 23rd in the fifth inning.
That was plenty of cushion for Jobe, who had just about his whole arsenal clicking in his seventh start after coming back from Tommy John surgery. He allowed only a first-inning solo homer to Adael Amador in a career-high 6 1/3 innings, posting a career-high eight strikeouts.
Against a lineup of nine left-handed hitters, he and catcher Dillon Dingler deftly mixed sliders and curveballs off 97-mph four-seam fastballs and 95-mph sinkers.
The effectiveness of his spin negated the need for his changeup, which is normally his neutralizer against lefties. He struggled to put it in the strike zone against the Rockies.
But he didn’t need to. He got 16 misses on 42 swings, seven on 11 swings with his slider and five out of eight with the curveball. He allowed just a pair of singles after the home run and left to a well-deserved ovation.
The Tigers, who have won five of their last six, head to Toronto on Monday to start their final road trip of the season.
