Sacramento taqueria chain known for its street tacos expands to Rancho Cordova

A local taquería chain has expanded into Rancho Cordova.

Taqueria La Perla Tapatia has moved into 3221 Zinfandel Dr., replacing Rubio’s Coastal Grill. The Sacramento-born Mexican food chain is most famous for its street tacos, super burritos, crispy tacos and carne asada plates.

“We’re passionate about serving bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and authentic dishes,” its owners said online. “From mouthwatering street tacos to sizzling fajitas and homemade tortillas, every bite is made with love.”

The restaurant serves seafood dishes, including fish tacos, seafood towers (mariscos), shrimp-based plates and fish caldo, a type of soup.

Taqueria La Perla Tapatia is set to open another location in Elk Grove and one in south Sacramento, according to its website. The restaurant first opened in Arden Arcade at 2820 Marconi Ave. in 2021.

Its Taqueria La Nueva Vallarta restaurants are on Northgate Boulevard in Sacramento and on Fairway Drive in Roseville.

The owners said on Instagram that “…every dish is made with the same quality that’s made us a local favorite for years.”

Taqueria La Perla Tapatia is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
