It’s been nearly five years since Aaron Rodgers and actress Shailene Woodley broke up after ending their engagement. Both have seemingly moved on since then, but Rodgers recently had some comments about Woodley that have her friends fuming.

In a recent interview, Rodgers spoke out about his relationship with Woodley, complaining about some of her behavior during their engagement. One complaint he had was that she stopped wearing their engagement ring a few months after he proposed.
Those remarks did not sit well with friends of Woodley and people close to her, who spoke to TMZ and had a lot to say about the Steelers quarterback.
Some pointed out that Rodgers has always known Woodley was a more private person and didn’t take kindly to him calling her out over it. Others remarked that it’s weird that Rodgers – who is now married – is still thinking about a relationship with someone he hasn’t even spoken to in years.
“Sources close to Shailene tell TMZ… Aaron knew she was a private person and appeared to respect that when they were together, making his recent podcast comments feel completely out of character,” the outlet reported.
“One source put it bluntly… ‘We’re questioning why a married dude is bringing up an ex he hasn’t spoken with in over 2 years.’

“Another source tells TMZ… Shailene’s friends know she wouldn’t appreciate Aaron speaking about her publicly this way.”
Rodgers Moving On?
Aside from his remarks about Shailene Woodley, Rodgers seems to be in a pretty good place from a personal life standpoint.
He’s married, planning on building a family after his career is over and seems to have even reconciled with his long-estranged immediate family.
As for Woodley, she’s doing her own thing. She ended a relationship with actor Lucas Bravo in 2025 and currently has several movies and TV shows in the works.
