Sophie Cunningham got quite the birthday gift on Sunday.
The WNBA guard helped her Indiana Fever team topple the Atlanta Dream in overtime in a nationally-televised game on ESPN. The game was a thriller, coming down to the wire in regulation, with Angel Reese ultimately missing a game-winning layup at the buzzer. The Fever were able to pull away in overtime.

Indiana improved to an impressive 23-12 on the year with the win, as Cunningham has been one of the league’s best role players. Sunday, August 16 was a special day for Cunningham in more ways than one, too. It was her 30th birthday. She celebrated in a big way, getting a huge victory.
After the victory, Cunningham took to Instagram, to thank everyone for their support over the past year. She’s hoping that 30 will be her best age yet.
“thank you Jesus for this life and another year❤️🔥,” she wrote on her Instagram page, as nearly 200,000 fans liked the post.

Cunningham and the Indiana Fever are playing like legitimate contenders in the WNBA this year, as they could be peaking at just the right time, with the postseason set to begin in less than two months.
If the Fever are going to make a deep run this fall, Cunningham will need to play a key role.
