Sacramento police arrested two men in connection with a Broadway burglary after linking a car with stolen plates to the August break-in, the Sacramento Police Department said.

Officers had developed descriptions of the two suspects, ages 21 and 20, and their vehicle after the Aug. 20 burglary in the 5900 block of Broadway, police officials said in a statement Wednesday.
Later that day, officers pulled over a vehicle with two stolen license plates, called burglary detectives and learned the car was potentially tied to the Broadway burglary.
Probation searches of the vehicle and the suspects’ homes uncovered more evidence tying the two to the burglary. Additional investigation led to the arrests, department officials said.

The 20-year-old suspect is being held at Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center near Elk Grove on suspicion of buying or receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a felon and evading peace officers.
The 21-year-old suspect was released from Sacramento County custody in August following his arrest, jail records showed. It was not known whether he still faces charges connected to the burglary.
