A two-car crash in along Air Expressway in Victorville on Saturday afternoon left a Helendale man dead and three other people injured, officials said.

The crash between a Jeep Cherokee and a Mitsubishi Eclipse was reported about 5:05 p.m. Aug. 15 at the intersection of Air Expressway and Village Drive.
The Jeep was headed east on Air Expressway prior to the crash, while the Mitsubishi was attempting to make a left turn from westbound Air Expressway to southbound Village Drive, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials said.
“The Jeep broadsided the Mitsubishi on the passenger side,” according to a sheriff’s department statement.
David Ngy, 47, of Helendale, who was riding as a passenger in the Mitsubishi, died at the scene, authorities said.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, as well as a second passenger and the driver of the Jeep, were hospitalized in unknown condition.

The investigation into the cause and circumstances of the deadly wreck remained under investigation.
