The result means England has now reached the World Cup semifinals for the second time in the last three tournaments, having also made the final four in 2018 and the quarterfinals in 2022.

Argentina and England will now meet on July 15, 24 hours after Spain and France face off in the other semifinal. The 2010 and 2018 World Cup winners secured their places in the last four by defeating Belgium and Morocco, respectively.
The matchup promises to be an intriguing one, with France’s multidimensional attack taking on Spain’s outstanding defense, which has conceded just one goal throughout the tournament.
Why Are There No World Cup Matches Today?
The World Cup schedule is on a two-day break before the semifinal matches begin.
The semifinals kick off on Tuesday, when France takes on Spain in Dallas, before Argentina faces England on Wednesday in Atlanta.
The rest days are crucial for all four teams after a demanding schedule throughout the tournament, giving players a much needed break to recover and prepare for the biggest matches of the competition.
Following the semifinals, there will also be no matches on July 16 or July 17, allowing the two finalists additional time to recover before the World Cup final.
