The Red Devils are in Lombardy for today’s match, and apart from a struggling side and an injury crisis, Carrick is now dealing with another concern after Italian authorities issued an orange weather warning for the region.
An orange alert indicates a potentially dangerous situation, and the weather forecast calls for severe rainfall and possible lightning, with the conditions expected to persist throughout Wednesday.
Como has also experienced heavy rainfall throughout the week, raising concerns about whether the pitch can withstand the downpour and potential waterlogging.
What Happens if Manchester United vs. Como Gets Canceled?
According to reports, up to 64 mm of rainfall is predicted before the scheduled kickoff. The additional risk of lightning could also force the Champions League fixture to be postponed.
If a match is canceled, UEFA generally schedules it for the following day, meaning United and Como could face each other on Thursday if today’s game is postponed.

Article 27 of the Champions League Regulations states:
“If it is decided on the day of a match that the match cannot start or cannot be played in full, the full or remaining match time is, as a rule, played the next day.”
If further obstacles prevent the match from taking place the following day, the regulations state that it will be rescheduled for another date.
“If the match cannot be rescheduled for the next day, the UEFA administration fixes a new date. This may entail exceptions to the regular match calendar.”

United hosts Bournemouth on Sunday, while Como will face Sassuolo on Saturday. A postponement could therefore create scheduling complications if the match cannot be played today.
