A woman who wore a GPS ankle monitor while committing one of three Sacramento-area robberies in 2024 was convicted Tuesday and faces up to 85 years to life in prison, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.

Sacramento Superior Court jurors found Sandra Alvina Martinez, 34, guilty of three robberies, including one in which she used a firearm at a 7-Eleven on Watt Avenue and two at a doughnut shop on Del Paso Boulevard. The robberies occurred between Sept. 25 and Oct. 28, 2024, prosecutors said.
Martinez was wearing a GPS monitoring device during the 7-Eleven robbery, allowing investigators to place her at the scene, prosecutors said. Authorities found Martinez in her car the day after the robbery with a T-shirt, mask and gloves matching those worn by the robber, according to the DA’s Office.
The other two robberies happened at the Del Paso Boulevard doughnut shop. During one, Martinez told a victim she had a gun and demanded money, prosecutors said. She later returned to the shop and robbed another victim at gunpoint.

Martinez had two prior strike convictions for carjacking. She faces a maximum of 85 years to life in state prison when she is sentenced Oct. 30 by Judge Helena Gweon.
She remains held at Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center south of Elk Grove awaiting sentencing.
