The San Francisco 49ers look like one of the NFL’s best teams early in the 2026 season. They have opened up the year with two impressive wins, one coming in the regular season opener against the Los Angeles Rams in Australia by 20 points, and another this past Sunday during their Week 2 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

What has been most impressive is San Francisco’s offense, led by quarterback Brock Purdy, which seems to be firing on all cylinders.
They have already totaled nine scores and 62 total points through two games. Now in his fifth NFL season, the former seventh-round draft pick has proven he can perform at the highest level.
Purdy’s performance during Sunday’s win against the Miami Dolphins was his most impressive yet as he torched Miami’s secondary.
He completed 20 of 22 passes, displaying elite efficiency, throwing for 287 yards and two touchdowns without a turnover. He likely would have eclipsed 300 yards had the 49ers not entered the fourth quarter with such a commanding lead.

Purdy also rushed the ball three times for 30 yards and another touchdown, giving him a hand in three scores on the day. His efforts earned him the NFC Offensive Player of the Week award for Week 2.
The 49ers announced Purdy’s accomplishment on X, celebrating another dominant performance from their franchise quarterback.
