The first visitor won $145,888 on a $250 bet on a $2 “Golden Century” slot machine Thursday, Aug. 13, the casino said in a news release.
A few hours later, a second player hit a $112,505.58 progressive jackpot on a $1 machine with a $25 bet.
“Apparently, one six-figure jackpot just wasn’t enough for one day,” said Dawn Clayton, chief executive officer of Thunder Valley Casino Resort. “Two guests winning more than a quarter-million dollars combined within hours of each other is pretty exciting. Congratulations to both of our winners. What a night!”
Thunder Valley has paid out more than 251,000 jackpots over the past year, averaging nearly 700 jackpots per day, or roughly one every two minutes.

Thunder Valley Casino Resort at 1200 Athens Ave. in Lincoln has 3,500 slot machines and 89 table games. It is about 35 miles northeast of Sacramento.
