Northbound lanes of Highway 65 at Pleasant Grove Boulevard reopened Wednesday afternoon after a person jumped from an overpass onto the highway, according to officials.

Lt. Nick Gaines, a spokesperson for the Roseville Police Department, said the person jumped from the Pleasant Grove Boulevard overpass onto Highway 65.
“We believe it to be a suicide,” he said.
Gaines said it was not immediately known whether the person had a vehicle. The person was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The California Highway Patrol closed all northbound lanes at 11:56 a.m. and diverted traffic onto the Pleasant Grove Boulevard exit, according to the agency’s incident log. CHP issued a SigAlert at 12:07 p.m., saying there was no estimated time for the highway to reopen and advising motorists to expect delays.

The westbound Pleasant Grove Boulevard on-ramp to northbound Highway 65 also was closed during the incident, the log showed.
The lanes later reopened and the traffic restrictions were lifted.
