California-based Dreyer’s recalls frozen fruit bars for possible glass contamination

Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream Inc. has issued a recall of certain flavors of its Outshine Fruit Bars, according to the Food and Drug Administration website, over “possible foreign material contamination with glass.”

Dreyer’s, which was founded in Oakland in 1928 and is currently headquartered in Walnut Creek, issued a recall on Aug. 16 of certain Outshine Fruit Bars.

Some consumers reported finding glass inside fruit bars they had purchased. The recall is nationwide.

No injuries have been reported. According to a press release from Outshine, the affected bars can be returned to their place of purchase for a refund. Alternatively, they should be discarded.
