As many as 9 Sacramento storefronts hit in 24-hour burglary spree, police say

As many as nine downtown and midtown storefronts were hit by burglars in a 24-hour span earlier this week, Sacramento police said as they investigated whether the break-ins were connected.

The break-ins, mostly in the early morning hours, were reported across the grid from late Aug. 31 through early Wednesday, the Sacramento Police Department said.

The burglaries were reported at the following locations, police said:

  • 1000 and 1100 blocks of 16th Street
  • 1700, 2200 and 2500 blocks of J Street
  • 600 block of 20th Street
  • 900 block of 11th Street
  • 200 block of Dos Rios Street

“Our officers have conducted thorough investigations on each of these and they’ve been forwarded to our burglary detectives for follow-up,” said Officer Anthony Gamble, a Sacramento Police Department spokesman. “We are investigating if there is any relation between them.”
