A 25-year-old Rancho Cordova man faces pimping and pandering charges after his arrest last week by Placer County sheriff’s deputies.

Detectives, with help from the California Highway Patrol, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office and Roseville Police Department, arrested the man Aug. 27 in Elk Grove after an investigation into suspected human trafficking that began in June, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said.
Placer detectives first suspected the man of encouraging and profiting from commercial sex after they arrested an alleged sex worker in June as part of the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office said.

In July, Placer detectives assisting Roseville police with a human trafficking investigation again contacted the sex worker. Investigators later determined the Rancho Cordova man continued to encourage and financially benefit from sex-for-money transactions, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The man was being held at South Placer Jail in Roseville and was scheduled to appear Wednesday in Placer Superior Court, according to jail records.
