In five games this season, Nix is completing a career-low 59.9% of his passes for 942 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions. For comparison’s sake, he had 3,931 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions during the 2025 season.

Even though Denver is coming off a win over the Los Angeles Chargers, fans believe Nix is holding back Sean Payton’s offense. While speaking to the media Tuesday, he told reporters he’s not worried about what people outside the organization are saying.

“Playing good and playing bad, it’s a narrative and I think it’s honestly kind of something we make up,” Nix said, via The Denver Gazette. “I don’t think necessarily I’m playing any different than what I’m normally playing.”

Nix also said he’s not bothered by people saying he needs to throw the ball downfield more often.

“At the end of the day, it’s like, who cares? Why would I go out there worried about throwing an interception?” Nix continued. “Why would I go out there trying to throw every football 50 yards down the field? Just play the play. If the play is there, hit it. If it’s not, check it down, run, throw it away…. Just have to remind myself to not play hero ball. It’s one play at a time.”

Is Bo Nix on the hot seat?

Fox Sports radio host Colin Cowherd suggested this eek that Nix won’t receive another contract from the Broncos.

“You can’t extend Bo Nix,” said Cowherd. “You let the season play out… His first quarter passer rating is lower than Cam Ward and everybody thinks Cam Ward is a bust.”

Luckily for Nix, there’s plenty of time for him to turn this season around. Next up is a showdown with the Seattle Seahawks on “Thursday Night Football.”
