Hillenbrand is much more than a brewery. The property includes nearly 13 acres of land, and includes the brewery and biergarten with a food truck, a 12,000-square-foot pavilion for live performances, a venue for weddings and other events, a 3,100-square-foot primary residence and a guest house that drives revenue via Airbnb. Owner Patric Hillenbrand currently lives on premises in the residence.
“It’s really an experience from the way we look at it. It’s got all these different components. You have the brewery component. You have the event space. You have the main residence. You have the Airbnb. You have the Auburn Ravine that runs behind it. When you’re there and you’re seeing live music and you’re having a cold beer, it’s magical,” said Scott Kinsgton, Senior Vice President of Turton Commercial Real Estate.
The property is in Newcastle, about halfway between Lincoln and Auburn in the Sierra Foothills, and not far off the Interstate 80 corridor. According to the brochure, it’s about 45 minutes from Sacramento, 25 minutes from Roseville and 20 minutes from Rocklin.
Hillenbrand opened the property in 2016. He previously founded and sold Hillenbrand Insurance Solutions, and served as president and regional director of Entrepreneurs’ Organization’s Sacramento chapter, The Bee has reported.

According to Kingston, Hillenbrand’s primary driver in listing the property is to use the funds to expand the business, not to cut ties with it.
“Patrick has been looking for ways to potentially grow the brand, and to grow the brand it requires capital. So he’s flexible in, infusing capital by selling the real estate, potentially selling the business, staying on, or some hybrid. A partner could be a corporation, could be a high net worth individual, could be another brewery,” Kingston said. “He just wants to do what’s right for the business. There’s a lot of different ways that this property could be positioned long term to generate additional revenue.”
The property has been a labor of love for Hillenbrand, according to Kingston.
“It was really painstakingly built by Patric Hillenbrand. He’s really overseen and done a lot of the hard work himself. It’s not like an industrial park brewery. It’s really an event space that also is an operating brewery. It’s pretty special,” he said.
