As the California State Fair enters its second weekend, the annual celebration of all the state has to offer is honoring diverse communities with an LGBTQ+ Pride Day.

Saturday is designated as a special Pride Day at this year’s State Fair, with performances by LGBTQ+ groups and afternoon events aimed at embracing LGBTQ+ culture.
The Pride Day celebration is being sponsored by the Sacramento Rainbow Chamber of Commerce, which supports and uplifts LGBTQ+-owned businesses across the capital region.

What are the California State Fair’s LGBTQ+ Pride activities?
Free performances and activities will honor LGBTQ+ Pride at the fair Saturday morning, while ticketed events in the early afternoon extend the festivities.
At 11 a.m., the Sacramento Sirens Cheer Elite squad, which provides underrepresented youth in the capital region opportunities to perform and compete on a cheerleading team, will perform on the ICanGoToCollege.com Promenade Stage. The Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus will follow the cheer team at 11:30 a.m. on the same stage, which is located in the southern portion of Cal Expo across from the Save Mart Wine Garden.

At 12:30 p.m., celebrants can meet up at the adjacent wine garden for an afternoon hang out, according to the Rainbow Chamber’s schedule of events for Saturday.
In the afternoon, the LGBTQ+ celebration will take over the Clubhouse at the Grandstands events room at the Michelob Ultra Grandstand on the far west end of Cal Expo.
A Drag Bingo game will kick off at 2 p.m., with about eight rounds lasting until 4 p.m. Attendees can play all eight bingo rounds, or they can drop in at any other time. Afterward, the space will turn into an all-out Disco Dance Party at 4:30 p.m.
Fair admissions tickets with the Drag Queen Bingo and Disco Dance Party add-ons are available on the State Fair website, priced at $37 per person. State Fair officials noted on the ticketing site that the Clubhouse offers a cash-only bar but does not sell food, so attendees should eat ahead of arriving to the festivities.
