“We understand that this significant closure period will especially impact Yolo County’s Clarksburg area residents and business owners,” County Supervisor Oscar Villegas said in a news release. “Though it is a long construction period, the effort spent by Sacramento County and Yolo County to complete these necessary structural weld repairs will provide many years of safe, future use of this important Sacramento River crossing in the region.”
The bridge will be closed weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., beginning Nov. 2 and continuing through Nov. 30. It will reopen each evening. Sacramento County crews will use the closures to repair structural steel welds on the bridge deck.
During the repairs, travelers going to and from Clarksburg will be directed through West Sacramento to the north or via Highway 160 and the Paintersville Bridge to the south.
Accelerated Construction and Metal LLC will perform the work, with Sacramento and Yolo counties sharing the cost.

The repairs were originally scheduled for overnight hours to minimize traffic disruptions. However, colder temperatures and higher moisture levels at night could complicate welding and affect the quality of the repairs.
Work will depend on weather conditions. Motorists should expect delays and detours, follow instructions from flaggers and use caution in construction zones. More information about the closure is available on Yolo County’s website.
