On Monday at 12:01 a.m. a heat advisory was released by the NWS Reno NV valid from Wednesday 8 a.m. until Thursday 8 a.m. for Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern Sierra counties.
The NWS informs, “For the Heat Advisory and the Extreme Heat Watch, lower valley highs 95 to 102 degrees with overnight lows between 58 to 65 degrees. Widespread Moderate HeatRisk.”

“Heat-related illnesses will be more likely, especially for those spending extended periods outdoors, in poorly cooled indoor spaces, or who are sensitive to heat,” comments the NWS.
This advisory is in effect until Thursday at 8 a.m.
Ways to stay safe in the heat according to the NWS
- Stay hydrated: Remember to drink plenty of fluids.
- Seek shelter: Stay indoors in an air-conditioned room to keep cool.
- Avoid direct sun exposure: Protect yourself and check on vulnerable relatives and neighbors.
