Georgia has opened the season with one of the nation’s most productive offenses, averaging 59.3 points and 539 total yards per game. The Bulldogs also have allowed just 13.3 points per game through three contests. Oklahoma has been much stronger defensively, allowing 7.7 points per game, but its offense has averaged 329.7 yards per game.
The Sooners enter the SEC opener after a 17-10 loss to Michigan and a 14-6 win over New Mexico. Georgia, meanwhile, is 3-0 after opening conference play with a win over Arkansas. Saturday’s game gives Oklahoma an immediate test against the No. 2 team in the country and gives Georgia another opportunity to add a conference win to its résumé.

Oklahoma will need a much better offensive performance after averaging only 110.3 rushing yards and 219.3 passing yards per game through three contests. The Sooners’ defense has been the stronger unit, allowing only 104.3 passing yards per game and 111.0 rushing yards per game.
The matchup also renews a series that has only been played once previously. Georgia defeated Oklahoma 54-48 in the 2018 Rose Bowl and Saturday will be the first meeting between the programs in Athens.
Georgia has ruled out defensive back Tyriq Green, outside linebacker Chase Linton and offensive lineman Marcus Harrison. Wide receiver Isiah Canion, running back Nate Frazier and defensive back Justice Fitzpatrick are listed as questionable.
