The New York Jets added veteran safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and voted him as a captain before the start of the season. But he didn’t act very captain-like in a devastating hit on Cleveland Browns WR KC Concepcion that knocked the receiver out of the game.

Midway through the first quarter, during the Browns’ second drive of the game, Browns QB Deshaun Watson tried to thread the ball into Concepcion’s hands for a big play that would’ve put them in the red zone. But Fitzpatrick blasted Concepcion in the head with his shoulder, knocking the ball from his hands and knocking Concepcion seemingly out cold.
Fitzpatrick was flagged for unnecessary roughness (his second penalty of the drive) and the Browns wound up in the red zone anyway.
“Dirty Player”
NFL fans were downright furious at Fitzpatrick for the reckless and dangerous play. Many took to social media and declared that he’s one of the dirtiest players in the game and has been for a while:
“He’s the dirtiest player in the league. Someone needs to break his (expletive) legs,” one user on X wrote.

“Someone on the Browns needs to take him the (expletive) out. END HIS CAREER! Zip him up,” wrote another.
“Minkah shouldn’t be allowed to play the in nfl he is such a dirty player,” a third said.
“This piece of (expletive) should be banned from NFL.”
Fitzpatrick has faced accusations of being a “dirty player” following several controversial tackles. Browns fans in particular remember his low tackle on star running back Nick Chubb in 2023 which resulted in a devastating knee injury that ended Chubb’s season.
Fitzpatrick defended the play as a necessary tackling technique, but Chubb was never the same player afterwards and retired after the 2025 season.
